News From Down South

We have had a couple of fun things going on down in Pine Valley first and most exciting is we are expecting another little cowBOY to enter our family September 6th!  We had our first ultra sound and were relieved to find that the baby is growing healthy and strong!  We feel so blessed and happy!

The second fun thing is that Matt and I where able to go to Washington D.C. for a week with about 30 other couples from all over Utah as part of the Utah Farm Bureau Young Farmers and Ranchers.  The Farm Bureau is a lobbying agency for agriculture.  We felt so blessed to see our nations capital and see all of the amazing history there.  We also were able to meet with our Utah Senators and talk with them about issues we were concerned about.  Sorry Grandpa but we didn't get to see the President to pass on your advice,  he may have been hiding out when he heard a bunch of Utah Farmers and Ranchers where coming to town!  We were a little out of place in the big city with our cowboy hats and wranglers there was more than a couple stares and everyone wanted to know if we were from Texas.  We had to inform them that Texas isn't the only place a cowboy lives!

We are on our way to tour the Capital.  Behind us is a replica of Lady Freedom she stands on the top of the capital.  We toured the capital the day Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke to congress.  There was a lot of excitement and security because of this.

This was George Washington's pew at the Church of Christ.  He had to pay a yearly rent to keep this pew, he must have paid good because it still has his name on it:)

Mount Vernon, George Washington's plantation his home is in the background.

Ford's Theatre where President Lincoln was assassinated.

The tomb of the unknown solider at Arlington.  We were able to see the changing of the guard and our group was able to put a new wreath out.

Hiroshima Monument
